Project Blue Book Case #6914. On August 23, 1960, a bright object was observed over Wichita, Kansas — the third Blue Book unknown from the aircraft manufacturing capital (joining Cases #1739 and #2224 from 1952). Eight years after the 1952 cases, the people who built airplanes for a living were still seeing things they couldn't identify. Boeing's B-52 production line, Cessna, and Beech continued to make Wichita the most aviation-literate city in America. The case was classified "Unknown."
