The Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi has been the subject of ghost reports from employees and visitors over many years. The facility, which hosts concerts, sports events, and conventions, was built in 1977 and suffered significant damage during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Staff members have reported hearing footsteps and voices in the arena when it is empty between events, lights flickering in specific sections of the seating, and cold spots that appear in backstage areas. Some employees have described seeing a figure walking through the arena floor-level seats during off-hours, who disappears when approached. The backstage area and the loading dock have been the site of reports of objects being moved and doors opening on their own. Ghost Hunters investigated the coliseum and documented what they described as paranormal activity, including unexplained sounds and temperature anomalies. Some staff members speculate that the haunting may be connected to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, which killed over 230 people in Mississippi and devastated the Biloxi coast. The coliseum served as an emergency shelter during the storm, and the trauma of that experience may have left an imprint on the building.
