Bright object observed over Cape Cod near Otis AFB air defense station (1952)

On June 17, 1952, a bright object was observed over Cape Cod, Massachusetts — near Otis AFB, the Air Defense Command installation that protected the northeastern seaboard. This was the second Blue Book unknown from the Cape Cod area (following the Provincetown case of 1950). June 1952 was in the wave's buildup phase. The case was classified "Unknown."
