Project Blue Book Case #10066. On November 4, 1965, witnesses in Middletown, Ohio — an industrial city positioned roughly midway between Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton and Cincinnati — observed a bright object in the sky. Middletown's position made it yet another Ohio unknown in Blue Book's own backyard.
Ohio had become one of the most prolific sources of Blue Book unknowns, with cases from Columbus, Vandalia, Bedford, Toledo, Springfield, and now Middletown forming a ring around the program's headquarters at Wright-Patterson. The irony of the phenomenon concentrating in the very state where it was being investigated was impossible to ignore.
November 1965 was during a period of elevated activity that would build toward the explosive spring 1966 wave. The case was classified "Unknown."
