Project Blue Book Case #3072. On June 25, 1954, witnesses near Indian Lake, Ohio — a resort area in Logan County approximately 80 miles northwest of Wright-Patterson AFB — observed a bright object in the sky. Indian Lake's position in Ohio's flat western farmland provided wide-open horizons and dark skies away from urban light pollution.
Ohio continued to contribute cases to Blue Book throughout the program's existence. Indian Lake's relatively remote setting, far from major air bases or commercial airports, simplified the investigation by limiting conventional explanations.
The case was classified "Unknown."
