Rodrigues Home is an abandoned mansion in Verna, Goa, that has gained attention due to persistent reports of paranormal activity. The house, built during the Portuguese colonial period, has been vacant for years and has deteriorated into an atmospheric ruin. Locals describe hearing voices and screams from inside the empty building, seeing lights in the windows at night, and encountering a hostile presence that seems to guard the property against intruders. Some accounts describe objects being thrown at people who approach too closely. The mansion's colonial architecture — with its characteristic high ceilings, wide windows, and internal courtyard — is typical of Goa's Portuguese-era houses, many of which have become associated with supernatural activity as their original occupants departed and the buildings fell into disrepair. In Goan folk belief, abandoned houses become occupied by spirits and should not be entered without proper spiritual protection. The combination of Goa's Catholic heritage (introduced during Portuguese rule) and its older Hindu spiritual traditions creates a dual supernatural framework where both Christian and Hindu explanations for hauntings coexist.
