Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb is a historical monument in the Mehrauli Archaeological Park in south Delhi, dating to the Mughal period (early 16th century). The complex includes the mosque and the tombs of the Sufi poet Jamali (Sheikh Fazlullah) and his companion Kamali, whose relationship remains a subject of scholarly debate. The site is considered one of Delhi's most supernaturally active locations. Visitors report hearing voices inside the sealed tomb, seeing shadowy figures moving between the arched columns of the mosque, and experiencing aggressive spiritual phenomena — being pushed, scratched, and overcome with nausea. In Islamic tradition, djinn inhabit ruins and desolate places, and the Mehrauli complex — with its concentration of medieval Islamic tombs, mosques, and the ruins of the first city of Delhi — is believed to be particularly densely populated by these entities. EVP recordings taken at the site have allegedly captured voices reciting Quranic verses and speaking in medieval Persian. The site's isolation within the larger archaeological park, surrounded by crumbling walls and ancient trees, creates an atmosphere of profound antiquity. Access to the tombs themselves is restricted, and locals advise against visiting after sunset.
