Fourth Blue Book unknown over Okinawa — Pacific military stronghold (1952)

Project Blue Book Case #1144. On April 22, 1952, an unidentified object was observed over Okinawa — the fourth Blue Book unknown from this Pacific island military stronghold (joining Cases #984, #678, and #4959). Four cases made Okinawa one of the most prolific overseas locations in the Blue Book database. The island's massive concentration of U.S. military facilities — Kadena, Naha, and numerous Army and Marine Corps installations — made any unidentified object a security concern. The case was classified "Unknown."
