Bright object observed over Bellingham near the Canadian border, Washington (1955)

Project Blue Book Case #3743. On September 3, 1955, a bright object was observed over Bellingham, Washington — the northernmost major city in the contiguous United States, situated on Bellingham Bay approximately 20 miles south of the Canadian border. Bellingham's position near the border placed it within the air defense surveillance zone monitoring for potential Soviet incursions via the polar route through British Columbia. The Pacific Northwest continued its long association with the UFO phenomenon. The case was classified "Unknown."
