The Mackenzie Inn in Kirkfield, Ontario, is a historic lodge that was featured on the Canadian paranormal television series Creepy Canada. The building, set in the lake country of the Kawartha Highlands, has served travelers and tourists since the 19th century. Staff and guests have described a range of unexplained phenomena including footsteps on the upper floors when no guests are checked in, doors that open and close on their own, and the apparition of a man in Victorian-era clothing who has been seen standing in the main hall. Some guests staying in the upper rooms have reported hearing a conversation between two people in the room adjacent to theirs, only to discover the room was empty. Cold drafts that pass through rooms without any window or door being open have been reported, and some staff members describe a persistent feeling of being watched in the kitchen and cellar areas. The Kirkfield area, part of the historic Victoria County in central Ontario, was settled in the mid-19th century by Scottish and Irish immigrants, and the inn may retain the spirits of early settlers who found refuge within its walls during the harsh Ontario winters.
