Bright object observed over Pontiac in the Detroit automotive corridor, Michigan (1952)

Project Blue Book Case #1305. On June 18, 1952, witnesses in Pontiac, Michigan — a major automotive manufacturing city approximately 25 miles northwest of Detroit — observed a bright object. Pontiac's General Motors plants produced vehicles for both civilian and military use, and the Detroit area's industrial capacity was vital to national defense. Selfridge AFB was approximately 30 miles to the east. June 1952 was in the wave's buildup phase. The case was classified "Unknown."
