Bright object observed over Normandy near St. Louis, Missouri (1954)

Project Blue Book Case #3116. On July 18, 1954, a bright object was observed over Normandy, Missouri — a suburb immediately north of St. Louis. McDonnell Aircraft Corporation (later McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing) was headquartered nearby, producing the F-4 Phantom and other military aircraft. Scott AFB was across the river. The case was classified "Unknown."
