Project Blue Book Case #6153. On November 3, 1958, a bright object was observed over Minot, North Dakota — the city that would soon become one of the most important ICBM installations in the country. Minot AFB would host both B-52 bombers and Minuteman III missiles, making it the only base in the Air Force operating two legs of the nuclear triad simultaneously.
In 1958, Minot's transformation into a nuclear fortress was underway. The 1968 Minot UFO case — involving missile security personnel — would later become one of the most discussed post-Blue Book incidents. This 1958 case was an early precursor. The case was classified "Unknown."
